Chair of the Board
Ms. Margo L. Williams has lived in Maryland since 1980, having grown up in Queens, NY. Ms. Williams has a Master's degree in Sociology and Religious Education, therefore she will also be Co-Directing our educational, diversity and outreach efforts. She has a diverse background including as Chair of the (now defunct) Commission on Racism for the Episcopal Diocese of Washington. She is a genealogist, family, and community historian and has authored three books. She also has a background in Indigenous and African American education, has worked as a director for a small food bank and cultural heritage site, as well as having worked with veterans as a National Service Officer.
Secretary
Ms. Rolande Lewis has a Masters degree in International Training and Education and many years of experience in supporting international projects focused on health and wellness. She has served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cote d'Ivoire and as a Peace Corps Response volunteer in Burkina Faso and Senegal. Some of the projects she has supported include the Ambassadors Girls Scholarship Program, which provided scholarships and mentoring to girls in East and Central Africa, LINKAGES, which linked marginalized populations to HIV care and advocated for human rights, and the Infectious Disease Detection and Surveillance project, which provided training to health officials in multiple countries in Africa and Asia. Rolande has also worked with organizations advocating for women's rights and for the rights of other marginalized communities in the United States. She speaks French and enjoys learning other languages.
Treasurer
Jennifer has over 35 years of experience in Accounting and Financial management with various roles as CFO and Controller. Throughout her career, she has been responsible for managing the financial operations of small to medium size private and publicly held national and international companies in for profit and non-profit organizations.
Due to her vast expertise in small organizations, Jennifer understands the challenges that many businesses face and recognizes the need to wear many hats including HR. She is a CPA and currently serves as the CFO at a non-profit organization.
