In 2019, cyberstalking was estimated to have affected nearly three million people nationally over the age of 16 years, (Morgan & Truman, 2022). Unfortunately, only about 86% of victims report cyberstalking to law enforcement, most victims reported not knowing their experiences were illegal.
So, this year, you are invited to take a virtual trip around Maryland, to recognize Cyberstalking Awareness Month, to help our community identify cyberstalking, and to help Marylanders understand the laws relevant to stalking that utilizes technology.
Put on your best Halloween mask, and connect with us here in the Old Line State. Learn more about cyberstalking, enjoy a cocktail or mocktail, and reveal some fun Maryland facts, all while receiving clues about the stalker amongst you. There will be games throughout the evening, as well as a mask competition.
So, put on your detective hat, because you will use the clues received throughout the evening to work with your team, so that at the end of the night the the stalker and their motivation will be unveiled!
We hope you have fun while taking this opportunity to learn more about stalking in our Cyberstalking Mystery Game.
